Handyman Services

Key Cutting

• Copy keys for homes, boats, mailboxes, padlocks, file cabinets, and most anything else
• Copy keys for vehicles (including programming the car fobs). You must have the car with you so we can properly program the car key or car fob to work correctly.
• Re-key Schlage and Kwikset cylinder locks. You must have the original key and the lock with you so we can accurately re-key the lock.
• Since we do not carry the appropriate key blanks, we are unable to make copies of any keys marked “Do Not Duplicate.” If you have a key that is marked “Do Not Duplicate,” please take it to Bulger Safe & Lock to have it copied.

Propane and CO₂ Gas Exchange

• Propane gas purchase and exchange in our Garden Center (full tanks are about 30 lbs.). We accept all brands of empty tanks; the full tanks you receive from us will be Blue Rhino brand.
• SodaStream CO₂ cartridges: we sell new and exchange both the blue-top (threaded) and pink-top (quick-connect) SodaStream CO₂ canisters inside our store with the cashiers.

Sharpening

• Kitchen and hunting knife sharpening while you wait on our state-of-the-art Resharp machine. Each knife takes about 2-3 minutes to sharpen and you’re on your way.
• In-house garden implement sharpening: hand pruners, grass clippers, axes, hatches, shovels, half-moon edgers, hedge sheers, lopers, pitch forks, lawnmower blades, scissors, chain saw blades, and machetes. Leave your tool with us, and we’ll have it sharpened and ready for you in about 7-10 days. We have no ability to sharpen a dull wit.
• Pencils: we have an old fashion pencil sharpener. It’s impressive. Bring in your dull pencils and sharpen them yourself here in the store.

Screen Repairs

• We repair window and door screens in-house. Typically, the wait is under a week in the winter and up to 2-3 weeks in the summer.

Shredding

• We accept clean, dry paperwork for shredding. We have locked bins on site that hold your documents securely before Access Shredding comes to shred the documents on-site. Please check to make sure your documents are free from CDs, plastic sheets, and heavy binder clips. Paperclips and file folders do not have to be removed.

Glass, Mirror and Plexiglass

• We have a wide selection of sizes and thicknesses of glass, mirror, and plexiglass that we can cut in straight lines to your exact dimensions. We are unable to cut curves.

Recycling Services

• Christmas tree lights (holiday string lights) — must remove any plastic bulb covers or other decorative plastic attachments before you bring them to us. We accept them year round.
• Due to WA state law, we do NOT accept batteries for recycling. Please take any used batteries to your local transfer station.
• The Washington State Department of Ecology has suspended the program, so we do NOT accept fluorescent light bulbs for recycling. Please take fluorescent bulbs to your local transfer station.
• We do NOT recycle any type of paint. We sell paint hardener you can use to harden latex paint so you can dispose of it in your own garbage can. For oil-based paints, we recommend you check out the Paint Care website to find the paint drop-off facility closest to you.

Tool Rental

• Plumbing: plumbing tool kits, shower valve wrenches, strap wrench, large pipe wrenches, strap wrench, basin wrench
• Measuring: 200 foot tape measure, 6 foot level, rolling measure wheel, laser level
• Demolition: sledge hammer, wrecking bar, pry bar
• Electrical: fish tape
• Yard, Patio and Garden: 12′ tree pruner, post-hole digger, post level, tamper, post driver, lawn roller, lawn aerator (step), drop spreader
• Power tools: hammer drill, reciprocating saw, belt sander, jig saw, angle grinder, rotary hammer drill
• Flooring and Tile: floor blower, floor scraper, heat gun, floor tile cutter,
• Hand tools and misc: bolt cutter, swagging crimper, water shutoff key, tubing bender, cable crimping tool, fan, stud sensor, folding table
• Moving: folding hand truck, appliance hand truck, moving dolly

Lumber & Wood Cutting

• We can cut pieces of wood that are less than 10″ wide. If you purchase the wood here with us, the first cut is always free.
• Since we don’t have a table saw, we cannot cut sheets of plywood or anything else larger than 10 inches.

Pipe Cutting

• We can cut pipe as well as thread pipe on our machine in our store.

Products by the Foot

We sell a wide variety of products by the foot, and one of our associates will be happy to cut you the exact amount that you need.

Paint
